The project

Built as part of a SAÉ (Learning and Assessment Situation), this application simulates an online cheese shop. Developed entirely in Java with a Swing graphical interface, it relies on a multi-window architecture using nested JDialogs for each step of the customer journey - browsing the catalog, managing the cart, entering information and editing the invoice.

Features
  • Cheese catalog with filters by milk type and format (half / whole)
  • Shopping cart respecting stock limits, with edit or clear options
  • Customer information form
  • Summary invoice generation with print option

Demo

Walkthrough of the cheese ordering interface in action: cart management, shipping cost calculation and customer form validation.

What the video shows
  • Empty cart: a message is automatically shown if the cart is empty at checkout.
  • Three types of cheese available: cow, goat and sheep milk.
  • Limited stock: a warning message appears if the requested quantity exceeds stock, and "Out of stock" appears once stock reaches zero.
  • Quantity editing in the cart: the matching cheese's stock updates in real time.
  • Shipping costs: free for orders over €120, otherwise a fee applies.
  • Three carriers available: Chronorelais, Chronofresh and Colissimo.
  • Full customer form: name, surname, address, postal code, city, phone, email, payment method and newsletter opt-in.
  • Invoice window: full summary with customer details, cart contents, cheese total and shipping cost if the order is under €120.
  • Responsive interface: all windows adapt to screen size.
